COMMANDERS CORNER
Our Gambling Manager Randy, Assistant Gambling Manager Tammy and I just
returned from the Allied Charities of Minnesota annual convention in Duluth. 3
days of learning about law changes, taxes and fees, programs, and networking
with other veterans groups on what has and hasn’t worked for them, etc. We also
met with representatives from the gambling industry that manufacture and
distribute the pull tabs, paddlewheel tickets, etc. A lot of good information was
shared; we got a lot of questions answered, and are thinking of new things to do
at the Post. You will see in the Executive Board notes that they recommended we
donate $1000.00 to the Children’s Holiday Party, run by the Auxiliary every
year. With your approval, we will make an estimated 100 kids happier this year
when they come and see Santa (who looks like he would be a good honor guard
member;) play games, and do crafts. The donation will allow the Auxiliary to
rebuild their stock as well, and take advantage of the after Christmas sales for
next year. In closing, please remember that there are thousands of our troops
serving around the world that will not be home for the holidays.
Please keep them in your prayers. Diane and I wish all of you a
Merry Christmas and a Happy, Prosperous New Year.

Hi Ladies,
I hope that everyone was able to be with their families for
Thanksgiving. Christmas is coming very fast. Come and
join us for the December 10th meeting, we will have a
potluck and just spend time to get to know one another.
The Children’s Holiday Party is Sunday, December 13th
from 1:00pm to 3:00pm, and Santa will be there. The
party is for children from birth to 10 years of age.
Reservations need to be into Tammy at the Legion office
by December 7th. We need to know the gender and ages
of those that are attending. A good time is planned.
For the January meeting let’s bring something for the
food shelf.
There is something at the Post for everyone. All are
welcome.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you and
your families.
God Bless America,
