Spring is slowly creeping up on us, I think. One sign of it was Ash Wednesday,
on February 14th, which marked the start of Lent. This year, the Post is not
putting on a fish fry, but does have a fish dinner on the menu. The next sign of
spring is St. Patrick’s Day, held in high esteem by the Irish and the Pseudo-Irish.
St. Paddy’s Day falls on Saturday this year, so expect a larger than usual
celebration. Word will be coming out later how the Post will celebrate.
Another sign of spring is the start of the search for Post officer nominees. We
will be accepting nominations until the end of the April membership meeting,
with elections in May and installation in June. I would ask anyone who has a
little extra time and some extra energy to consider running for an office. This
past year the office of Historian was vacant. Please pray for the safety of our
troops, especially those in harm’s way. And may God bless us all.

April is the cutoff date for nominations
Hello Ladies!
Our Annual Flea Market was a huge success this year. All proceeds from the table rentals and bake sale go toward our
Veterans projects.
Nominations will transpire at the next meeting on Thursday, March 8 at 7pm. Think about how you can join in. The best
part is the learning! If every person takes part in something, then we will succeed in a mighty way as a team!
For the first time ever at our Legion, our Auxiliary members are hosting Caribbean Night on March 24. Who doesn’t like
a short trip to the beach for only $18? The prepay tickets get you great food, entertainment by Mafi Photobooths, Photo
ops, fun games, the limbo and a great Silent Auction! There will be a prize for the best outfit if you choose to participate.
In addition to that the Tiki Bar will be open for business! What a fun way to raise money to serve our Veterans and
Community. Trust me when I say, you will feel like you are in the Caribbean for an evening! Tickets are available at the
gambling booth and bar. Just ask!
Elections are planned for the April 12 meeting at 7pm. Your vote matters!
On April 13th and 14th, North St. Paul will be having Junior Conference at our American Legion. These Junior girls are
the leaders of the future! These amazing young ladies are interested in what we do. Ask how you can help with this fun
and valuable event. Contact Mary French for details.
Being your Auxiliary President has been an honor for me. Thank you for your love and support these last few months. I
love the direction our Auxiliary team is heading and we could not have gotten there without so many people with positive
attitudes and willingness to put their words into action!
See you soon! Jenny Nelson

You are probably anxious to put the snow blower
away, but you may want to wait, as March often has
a surprise for us.
As this edition goes to print, the TWINS have started
spring training, the WILD are fighting for a playoff
spot, the WOLVES are positioning for a playoff berth,
and the High School tournaments will soon be in full
swing. Also, don’t forget the NCAA’s March Madness.
Always a good reason to meet up with friends.
It’s also a good time to join friends and family to plan
for that last minute getaway, the family summer
vacation, and the fishing trips or golf outings.
The “BEST” place to have those conversations? Why
it’s YOUR American Legion Club 39!
Stop in and enjoy good food, a cold beverage of your
choice, and some lively conversation with our staff.
They look forward to seeing and serving you.
The specials are:
MARCH
Beer of the month – 90 Schilling - $3.00.
Drink on the month Jameson Irish Whiskey - $3.00.
APRIL
Beer of the month – Coors Lite - $2.50.
Drink of the month – Rail Brandy - $2.50.
Stop by and join us.
“We’ll have the lights on for you”!
