All Donors Give From The Heart
Give the gift of Life, be a Blood donor. Each donation could save up to
three lives. Under normal circumstances, about every two seconds
someone in America will need a Blood transfusion. Only about 5
percent of Americans who are eligible to donate Blood actually do. The
next Blood Drive at the VFW in North St. Paul, will be January 11
2016, at 1:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. downstairs. Call Joanne Brown at
612-840-3610 for an appointment. If you would like to donate, we
would love to see you.
Blood Chairman Report ..... Jim Hamilton
Hi Ladies
I hope that everyone had a safe and happy holiday season with loved ones. 2016 is here and we
have many fund raisers planned. So please come and join us for the planning stages. We had
43 children at our Children’s Holiday Party and I would like to thank all those who came and
helped to set up or clean up or just participate in some way. Thank you also to Santa and Mrs
Claus all the children had a wonderful time. Thank you Diane and Commander Larry for all
you did and also to the Legion for all you did for us this year.
The Unit is looking to revitalize the Junior program. Juniors are from birth through 17 years
of age, membership is $4.00 per year. Please bring any potential members to the meeting on
Thursday, January 14th at 7pm. Lets promote the Junior program.
Stay warm and healthy and we'll see you in January
There is something at the Post for everyone. All are welcome.

American Legion Riders….Wes Butz
The riding season is upon us. We are looking for a
great season of riding. Before we start I would like
to thank Steve Hendrickson and Greg Anderson for
the great job they did while I was off playing snow
bird.
To make sure you are notified of rides and events
make sure Greg has your e-mail and phone number.
Many sign-up sheets were not legible, at least to
these old eyes! Mark your calendar for May 9, it is
a Charity ride for Autism. Meet at Arcade/Phalen
American Legion, kick stand up 0900.
Hope everyone who made our first ride had a good
time (Flood Run) on April 18th.
Hope to see everyone at our first meeting of the
spring on Wednesday, May 13th at 7pm.
See you down the road, Wes
All Donors Give From The Heart
Each year Blood donations increase by 2-3 percent, but the
demand for Blood climbs at a rate of 6-8 percent because of
an increase in medical procedures that use Blood products.
Blood is a perishable product with a shelf life of only 42 days
and platelets just days, so it must be replenished constantly -
there simply is no substitute.
Under normal circumstances, about every two seconds
someone in America will need a Blood transfusion.
The next Blood drive at the VFW in North St. Paul will be June
15, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. downstairs. Call Joanne
Brown at 612-840-3610 for an appointment. If you would like
to we would love to see you.
Blood Chairman Report ..... Jim Hamilton
Hi Ladies,
This year is coming to an end and I would like to thank all of
those who have participated in any of our events this year.
Annual reports have been completed and turned into Department
Office.
We had nominations for next year s officers. We are looking for
a secretary, Chaplain and Historian. If everyone that comes to a
meeting would bring a friend, we would increase our
membership and our volunteers.
I have one request for the May meeting. Please come with some
ways in which we can help our Veterans. We will be doing some
brainstorming to get ready for next year. We meet the 2nd
Thursday of the month, September through May at 7:00pm.
There will be a family picnic on August 16th. There will be
more information to follow.
There is something at the Post for everyone. All are welcome.

The snow is gone and the flowers are beginning to bloom. No doubt dedicated golfers are already enjoying the links. Stop
by our club after a round and enjoy “buy one get one” beer or cocktail with your golf receipt.
Good luck to all of the fishermen who are gearing up for
the Wisconsin and Minnesota fishing openers. Enjoy and
have safe outings with your family and friends.
We will be offering drink and food specials for Cinco de
Mayo on May 5th. Stop in for some fun and a tasty meal.
The monthly drink special is Margarita’s for $4.50 and the
beer of the month is Nordeast for $3.50.
Join us with your family and friends to chat about that
“great golf shot” or the “one that got away” and have a
cold one and some great food.
Remember, the beer is always COLD and the atmosphere
always FRIENDLY.
SEE YOU SOON!
